Who is James Bond? Brief history and information about the series
James Bond (aka Agent 007) is a fictional character created by the writer Ian Fleming. The Secret Intelligence Service spy (also known as MI6) has appeared in numerous novels and short stories by a British author. Lieutenant Bond is a Scot who was born at the Skyfall Estate. He is an intelligence soldier by training, licensed to kill (the two zeros in 007 are meant to be MI6 powers), who was educated at such a renowned university as the University of Cambridge. Apart from dangerous missions, an important role in his life is also played by women, supercars, elegant suits and his favorite drink – a vodka martini, which must be shaken and not stirred.
What else do we know about Her Majesty’s agent? Ian Fleming, creating this character, was inspired by, among others, by a real spy – Dušan Popov, who worked for the British and German services during World War II. His known codenames are Duško, Ivan, and Tricycle (the nickname alludes to Popov being in charge of three double agents).
On the occasion of the premiere of the 21st James Bond film (Casino Royale, 2006), a completely new biography of Agent 007 was created. According to it, the Briton was born on April 13, 1968 in West Berlin and grew up in Kent after the death of his parents. After being expelled from Eton College, he attended Fettes College, the University of Geneva and the Britannia Royal Navy College. After graduating, he entered the military service, namely the Special Boat Service.
According to his new biography, James Bond has served in Africa and Arab countries, and has also attended the universities of Cambridge and Oxford. When Bond joined MI6, he was fluent in four foreign languages (English, French, German, Italian), and also knew Greek, Chinese, Spanish and Japanese. After joining British services and receiving agent status with two zeros, the most famous spy of all time set off on his first mission to Madagascar.
Did you know that the author of the famous melody of The James Bond Theme was Monty Norman and the first film it was used in was Doctor No (1962)? British conductor John Barry is responsible for composing the musical setting for the other James Bond films. The five-time Oscar laureate created musical themes that have had many remakes.

He could also be seen in the entire superhero series – The Avengers. Rumors say Hiddleston met in London with the director and producer of the latest Bonds for negotiation talks.
