- Facebook Dating – How to use it and is it worth it?
Spis treści
In October 2020, Facebook launched the Facebook Dating website. In this article you will find out what the possibilities of this application are. How does fb dating work? How is it different from Tinder or Badoo?
Facebook Dating – what exactly is it?
Facebook Dating is a safe dating site that allows you to meet and chat with other people. The use of this portal begins with the creation of a profile. You need to set your age, photos and your preferences. It is worth placing your description under the photo – this will help you make more contacts. An important option is also setting the location. Both your own and the people you are looking for. Thanks to this function, you can easily find people in close proximity to you. Facebook Dating works on the same principles as Tinder and Badoo, the most popular online dating apps to date.
Facebook dating in a nutshell
Facebook dating is the newest option from the king of social networks. You do not need to download the application, because Facebook Dating is an additional tab available on your FB profile. To enable it, you just need to go to the options and fill in all required information. Name and age are shown automatically by downloading data from the main profile. The next step is to set your location and preferences such as gender, zodiac sign, interests. Then you import photos from your Facebook profile. Finally, you put a description under the main photo.
Now you can start viewing proposed people. You have a guarantee that your friends will not appear among them. You will immediately find out who liked your profile – this also works the other way around. If the selected person likes you, you will be able to start a conversation. Facebook Dating also has an option for a likes list that you can create by indicating which of your existing friends has caught your eye. These people won’t find out about it until they add you to their likes list themselves.
Facebook Dating vs. Tinder and Badoo – the basics
Facebook dating differs from Tinder in a few fundamental ways. Facebook’s proposal is a completely free tab built into the most popular social networking site in the world. Tinder is a standalone application. Facebook Dating doesn’t have a premium version, Tinder does. In the basic version, Tinder gives you forty likes a day. Additional options, such as moving profiles without limitations or the ability to undo profiles that have been rejected by accident, are paid. Tinder has more useful options, but they are hidden behind the so-called pay-wall.
The fees to be paid to have access to more options are $14.99 per month, $44.99 for half a year and $59.99 for a year of use, respectively. Be aware, however, that prices on Tinder can be “liquid”. The criterion is age – an older user, i.e. over 30 years old, will pay more for a monthly subscription than a 20-year-old user. Often even twice as much. Advertisements that are intrusively placed under the user’s nose are also a pain on Tinder. Tinder’s reviews and ratings for this app put it at the top of the dating apps. On the Google Play Store, Tinder has over four million reviews.
Badoo is the second most popular dating app in the world, next to Tinder. It works on the same principles as Tinder. The first difference is the extensive option of interests. A user who searches profiles can find people on Badoo who like the same things. Badoo also has an option to write to people who did not like you, i.e. you were not paired by the app. However, only one message a day is possible.
Badoo has a tab where the user can find active profiles from the same city. Badoo, like Tinder, has paid options. The Premium version offers four subscriptions. The weekly subscription is $3.99. The monthly cost is $9.99. A quarterly subscription is also possible – it costs $24.99. And a lifetime option is available and it comes with a price tag of $59.99. Each of these fees is charged once.
Facebook Dating – a summary and user reception
The advantage of Facebook Dating is certainly free access and no advertising. This distinguishes Facebook Dating from apps like Tinder and Badoo, which have the option to buy a subscription. Another plus of this portal is that you don’t need to download the app from stores such as Google Play and the App Store. To use Facebook Dating, all you need to do is have a profile on that website and click on the Facebook Dating tab. There are no ads showing when using this dating app, which is definitely different from Tinder and Badoo. A final advantage is that the profiles are checked for sexual solicitation. Competitive applications are filled with fake profiles and accounts of users who only want to have sexual relations.
Does Facebook Dating have any downsides? Yes, one that comes from being the shortest in the dating market and currently unable to compete with either Tinder or Badoo. The feedback on Facebook is good, albeit weaker than on Tinder and Badoo. After an initial period of hype and ridicule of this dating tab, users have taken the novelty of the dating site quite well. The fact that supports this thesis is that every day more and more people come to the group of users.
