Hogwarts Legacy – premiere, trailers and all we know about the game

Hogwarts Legacy is a game that every Harry Potter fan is waiting for. This time, however, the player will not play the role of this famous wizard, but will lead the fate of his own character. Here are all the highlights about the upcoming production!

Many internet users began to fear that Hogwarts Legacy still does not have a specific release date, and there is no way to find even a single fragment of the game on the web. Fortunately, it changed recently, when a cyclical event State of Play was held, where the gameplay from Avalanche Studios’ new game was finally presented! The presentation lasted about 14 minutes, and the whole thing was captured on the PlayStation 5.

Hogwarts Legacy – when is the premiere?

Hogwarts Legacy was originally supposed to see the light of day in 2021, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. The creators have not given a specific release date so far, but there is a good chance that this production will appear in the fourth quarter of 2022. Considering that Gotham Knights is coming out at the end of October, in the case of a game from the wizarding universe, it will be November or December.

Why did this production experience so many delays? If you believe the words of the creators, they just want to refine their product as much as possible and need more time for it. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end like Cyberpunk 2077. It is known, however, that we will have to wait a long time for the letter from Hogwarts. 

However, there is one plus in the whole situation. In my opinion, the creators behaved fine in relation to the players waiting for the premiere and did not release an underdeveloped product. So far, the release date has not been given, so on the one hand, there is no need to be afraid of the pressure of fans, as in the case of CDPR productions.

What do we know about Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy is a third-person open-world RPG developed by Avalanche Studios. The production will be released thanks to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Its action will take place, as the title suggests, at Hogwarts. We, as players, will move to the nineteenth century, that is, long before the events of the books about Harry. In this way, we will not only visit well-known locations, but also visit many new places. In addition, on our way we will encounter various creatures, fantastic beasts, we will be able cast spells and brew potions.

We, as players, will play the role of a student who has just joined the eponymous school of magic. Apparently, we will also be the one who holds the key to a secret that can threaten the entire wizarding world. If that was not enough, it turns out that our hero easily assimilates the teachings of ancient and forgotten magic.

It will only be up to us what the main character will look like – in this way, it will be possible to choose the sex, color of the skin, eyes, hairstyle, etc. All this just to increase the sense of immersion. Many Harry Potter fans have been waiting for this type of production for years.

Of course, due to the open nature of the game’s world, the player will be free to explore the castle and its surroundings. Unfortunately or fortunately, sometimes you will have to appear in class, and our decisions will have a real impact on the plot. It is a bit like one of Rockstar Games’ hits, Bully. I wonder if the whole thing will be played in a similar way.

As for the platforms on which Hogwarts Legacy would appear, these will be PCs and the old (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) and the new generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S). The game looks really good and you can see it in the trailer.

Will Harry Potter be in Hogwarts Legacy?

Many players, after hearing that a game is being created in the universe of a young wizard, wondered if Harry Potter would appear in the game. Considering that the game is set in the nineteenth century and the developers have announced that we will create our own hero using the character creator, it is unlikely that Harry will appear in the game.

However, would the creators cut out the character around which the whole universe is based? Who knows, maybe there will be DLC in which the playable character will be Potter or we will have the opportunity to meet someone from his ancestors? We will see.

How will Hogwarts Legacy be played?

Avalanche has announced that the game will be a typical open-world RPG. As a result, we will be able to create our own character, gain experience and level our character. 

In addition, we will learn about new spells and potions, which will become more and more powerful as the hero’s skills increase. In addition, the creators’ statements show that the game will put emphasis on duels, be it with other wizards or monsters.

Very interesting information for players is the fact that in Hogwarts Legacy there will be missions with difficult moral choices that will later affect the story of the game. 

What locations will be in the Hogwarts Heritage?

The creators, to further increase the appetite of Harry Potter, revealed the secret of the locations we can expect in the game.

Of course, the titular Hogwarts Castle will be the first to go. There is probably no person who would not like to explore the nooks and crannies of this castle and discover its secrets. The second location that we will be able to visit will be the village of Hogsmeade, where we will probably be able to spend our free time and get spoiled, as befits a young wizard. The last known location is the Forbidden Forest. We will probably carry out some missions there, but the details are not known yet.

Will there be more locations? It is difficult to answer this question at the moment. We have to wait for the start of a specific game promotion.

Other Harry Potter games worth playing!

So far, 16 different games from the Harry Potter universe have been released. They include production for PC, Xbox and PS consoles, mobile devices, but also using PlayStation Eye and PlayStation Move controllers. It is known that these productions are more or less successful.

However, I had the most fun playing the Lego version of Harry Potter. For me, these are productions closest to the original book and with lots of great humor. In addition, they last for hours and do not get boring. 

The second production worth mentioning here is Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Niantic’s game uses augmented reality technology, similar to Pokemon GO. There was a Cataclysm in the Wizarding World, through which items and characters from the Wizarding World entered the world of Muggles. Our task is to find them all and bring them back.

As you can see, the Harry Potter universe is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for game developers, and the unflagging popularity of the teenage wizard guarantees us many more interesting productions.

But for now, we are waiting for the Hogwarts Legacy! Hopefully it will not be too long.
